Stephen Maeder's Monty B-231 X-Lite Stock (Stephen now rides a Brisa B26) ![]() This bike is pretty dialed now! I've got some things in the works for it, but as it is, it is a very fun and comp-worthy bike... Updated photos: April 22, 2000

Salsa Front Skewer - Red: 12-18-99 Shimano steel rear skewer Monty/VP Double Cage pedals: 1-21-00
![]() Sugino 20t front ring (compact (58 BCD)), Monty bashring and chain guide Shimano RX100 12-21 8-Speed Cassette (I like the 3rd and 4th largest cogs - 17t and 16t, respectively) (21, 19, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12)
Geax Sedona 2.25 (Shaun Miller used this in the past - has a TALL sidewall, won't fit GT 12.5 frames; used it, not a bad tire, but I can run much lower pressure in the Tioga and like it better) Tioga Factory 2.3 DH Rear (the tire JJ and Kleivard use - This is my current love) Maxxis Mobster 2.7 (comes on some of the Monty 231s as stock, heavy, but is supposed to be pretty sweet) Panaracer Pyro 2.25 (has weak sidewalls)
IRC Mythos XC 2.1 Front tire - 538g (not a bad tire, doesn't grip as well as my Hutchinson does, though) Geax Sedona 1.85 - 480 Geax Warp 2.15 560g (Shaun Miller has used this in the past) Panaracer Fire XC Pro - 600g (saw Rafal Kumorowski running this, Jeremy VanSchoonhoven is also running a yellow sidewall version of this) © 2000 BikeTrials.com |
