# Introduction to Bike Trials

**Bike trials** is the sport of riding a bicycle over obstacles — rocks, logs, walls, pallets — without letting a foot touch the ground. It grew out of motorcycle trials in the 1970s and is contested worldwide on purpose-built 20-inch and 26-inch bikes. New to the sport? These four guides are the place to start.
