light comes at about 4 pounds, v brake compatible-only the stp 2 tho, very very easy to lift the front end up and therefore manuals like an dream and very easy to bunnyhop on

Weaknesses
none yet... i guess they could have more colour options

Review
Personally i own a 2005 giant stp 1. Iv had it for a short period of time and im very happy with it. all the components r solid and i just love the frame... I found it much better than the specialized p frames but i cant say anything bad about them either-if i couldnt get the stp i would defenetly go with p.2. If u are interested in a complete bike i found that it has too many gears...they make me very mad so im taking off one ring at the front to get rid off the front derailler. The avid brakes r very good so r the kenda k rad tires. The fork also seems good for the price-iv done some 6 footers and its holding up just fine. If ur looking for a nice dj/urban bike go for stp 1 its the best for the price :)

I got just the frame, and slapped it together. Right when I hopped on it. I did the longest manual I have ever done. I surpassed what I have be doing in the past, within just a week of riding the STP. It's a good all around bike, I've hit a ten foot drop and the frame held up just fine. Awesome dirt jumper, great uraban bike, this bike love's the skate parks. The frame has a life time warranty. This is the best bike I have had.

this bike is the best bike ive ever ridden for urban assault, the geometry is perfect, great for pulling up the front end for manuals and such. easy bike to hop around on. the gusseted frame is also a plus. best frame to buy for a cheap price. Even tho there are no discs on the stp 2 they have the hubs ready for u to slap them on.

I think STP2 bears the same similarties with STP1. I own a STP1 and found that it is easy to pull up for a bunny hop and over obstacles. It manuals really easy. The down side is that STP1 is heavier, but the frame geometry is really good.

I used to dirt jump on my X-country bike, because I couldn't afford another bike. Since I finally bit the bullet, I havn't looked back! The bike is so easy to bunny hop and jump! I read that most people are saying that theirs did not come with disc brakes-I live in Australia and all of the STP range come with disc brakes here, even though the STP2 only has cable discs I find they have more feel than V-brakes.

I've been using this bike for some months
and I think it's really good.

But the only problems are the brakes and the tires. I can't stop on mountain hills. Sometime I just ran over into something and gets cut on my fingers and legs. It hurts. lol anyway, except these two, I think the bike is okay.

There is no other bike I would have chosen over the STP 2...well maybe the STP 1 but that one is out of my price range. People may not like this bike because of the forks, tires and whatnot but I like this bike because half the fun will be upgrading this baby. I was going to just buy the frame and then build it up but I think having the STP 2 is better because you can have a whole bike right away and just install new parts when you want to. GREAT BIKE.

the stp2 frame is the best bang for the buck, unbreakable (trust me) but the parts, not so much. the mz comp shox, sun rims, and shimano drivetrain belong on a "walmart worthy" bike. all and all, still worth what u pay... i guess.

I got this for a awesome price. I immediatly put on a marzocchi dual crown fork, ryno lite wheels w/ big tires and hydro brake in front (extra parts). Mine is the stp3 so the parts are low quality, especially the crank and bottom bracket, but I'll swap those out. So far it rides great. it really hops, even with the big fork. wheelies and manuals are easy. it jumps great and the frame is certainly top quality. it should be fun for hardtail downhillin'.

As an experienced rider i think its a good bike for a intermeidiate rider but once you get to an advanced or pro level you want to be getting an STP ZERO because if your taking it over big jumps then the suspension fork can become overworked and it may break. This is precisly the reason why im getting an STP ZERO. I hope this helps. good luck with your riding.
