Cheap price, easy to replace, no pins to replace

Weaknesses
Weak material, bend/break very easily

Platform pedals, all kinds

Review
They worked great for the first 2 months, good grip on the shoe, great for contact with wood, ok for rock. The pedals bend very easily, with any major hit. I had to take them apart a few time to hammer them back into shape. I also had to switch the outer "cage" on both pedals, as my front foot pedal became smashed. After about 4 months 1 of the outer cages finally broke. These pedals are great for beginners or anyone who rides UCI only(no pedal dabs). If you use the pedal move alot, go for platforms, or get the more expensive cage pedals that are made from stronger aluminum.

These are the standard on bike trials bikes - they come on Montys, Megamos, Koxx (branded Tryall), Planet-X (branded Planet-X), Echo (branded Echo)... you get the picture.

Why do they come on most all trials bikes? They're cheap, light, and work great. As long as you make sure that they stay tightly threaded into the crank, and that the bolts holding the cages to the pedal body are tight, they should last quite a long time. That is, of course, unless you tend to bash pedals into things in a horrendously abusive fashion.

These pedals are wide, which gives your feet plenty of space to shift around without being partly off the pedal, as with more square-shaped pedals out there. They're also extremely sharp - most any shoe should grip the pedal well. Wearing shinguards with a hard plastic insert is a must when using these pedals - this pedal can easily cut to the bone (and even chip the bone!)!

seriously! wear shin guards! lol, or else u'll stand a pretty good chance of gettin a brutal scar on ur leg. anyhoo other than that these are noticeably grippier than ever. bad things r less likely to happen as compared with bmx pedals i.e. cleats won't round out n be useless slippery metal things.

These are my personal favorite pedals out there, but they have major disadvantages. They break, bend, the bolts come out, and they get dull very quickly. With that being said, any problem that you have can easily be solved with pliers, spare bolts, and a dremil tool. You can modify these time and time again, and they will seem brand new. Eventually, they will break, and you'll have to get new ones, bt now you have two sets to pull parts from, ensuring you can truly fix anything that might happen to these pedals.

So all of that sounds like a pain in the arse, but these pedals are worth the extra effort. They grip anything when sharp, they work great in the wet, again only when sharp, they are a lot lighter than any other pedals available, seriously, and best of all they are inexpensive!

So if you're willing to spend 5 minutes taking care of you pedals every other week, you'll reap the benifits.

when i got my VPs i thought they were good for the price. they seemed to grip well and looked sturdy enough, and i didnt pay much for them.

they lost their grip after about 4 weeks and they developed about 3mm play on the axle, and crunched loudly on every turn. they bent when i dropped the bike to the side falling off a rock. i removed the inner cage which upped the grip a bit, they felt more grippy than my other wellgo cage pedals but i came off them an aweful lot more, i think because my wellgo's are larger.

don't buy them - get something that will retain the quality it started with for more than 4 weeks.

* nice flat surface for feet.
* easy to replace.
