They are a very strong wheel!!!!!

Weaknesses
They pop ur tube so you need loads of rim tape and after you do this it gives your tire bulges

As with all wheels they are a very strong wheel, although that was a major plus point the thing that lets it down is its really sharp and jagged edges within the inside of the wheel. To prevent this you need loads of rim tape and after you do this it gives your tire bulges. and then in my case this doesn't help due to it now majorly rubbing on my frame.

Ok, for some reason many people claim this rim is weak and not worth buying. i strongly disagree. It has been fine for me, if it is built up right you will have no problems, unless you are crazily unsmooth or are trying to acheive trialsking status.

i'd reccommend this rim to nearly anyone. i dont know what one of the other reviewers is talking about with the rim tape, i have not needed excessive amounts.

Though best suited for smooth advanced riders, the rim does have a good construction and such.
I never dented my 521 but got lots of pinches. I now have a few dents which banged out well, and less flats. The width really helps traction and confidence.Use glass packing tape as rim strip.
OVERTENSION the build if you want it to last.It can take it.It may be lighter than the ALEX but that is the undrilled weight I presume.

One of the weakest rims i've ever come across, hung my friends on a pole and it buckled, the only way to keep this rim true and round would be to not use it, i cant state how weak this rim is. Stupid considering it was made by a trials company. =/

ive been riding nearly 2 years on and off and ive never been more stable than with this wheel the confidence it gives you is amazing thasts how i snapped my frame pushing a baracuda slum frame past its limits braking the chainstay lol hope it helps.

Width is good for extra grip, but can cause problems when fitting to some frames. When built up correctly it is strong. For rim tape a friend has used a seat belt with a 24" tube stretched over the top to hold it on or I have used damp proof corse and had no problems when landing on rails or sharp edges yet to pinch or bend it.

These rims are great and make your trials bike look so much nicer but they aint quite as strong as a d521 but have alot nicer braking cause u can get the pads realy close.
These rims are alot harder to get punctures with cause the width help avoid snake bites.

within the first week i bukcled it but it was a dodgy wheel build and i am a heavy person. but i had no problems with puntures, i dont use rim tape i use that slime stuf you put in between your tyre and tube try it it works well. tyers were hard to put on at first until i swiched to a wider one (dont even try to put anything below a 2.45 on because you can't) also dont try to run one on an old brisa with maguras because i had them set as far out as they can go and i had to sand the pads down, and the stupid thing still rubs so my advice is to get a frame that it fits on.

a very nice super wide rim. this is a must if you ride UCI style. do not fear that the rim won't fit your frame(if you ride trial you must have a trial specific frame).
the rim tape wasnt a problem for me, it came with the rim, and it's made especially for it.
not very resistant to multiple grinds though.
as a high quality product make sure u let the professionals handle the building part.
look around, the champions use it! :P

This rim only helps the riders above the advanced level, being so light and all. It's not as strong as it looks and it's flexy, which makes the spokes loose very quickly. Plus it's expensive
