Review
These rims have performed very well since i first purchased them built to CK hubs. They are very wide, which basically increases contact area of my rear tire providing more available traction and allowing slightly lower tire pressure. The sidewalls seem to have some sort of 'light grind' or machined texture to them, and this has infact provided more locking power for my plaz pads after about 2 weeks of first using the rim. The rim seems fairly lightweight for its size (about on par with my older RhynoLite) and it seems very solid. The rim 'joint' seems to be pinned, but im not sure if this will effect long-time durability. Overall a good buy!

I went through 4 of these rims in 3 months, the spokes always pulled through. I used to dint this rim sooo easily it was stupid, but I didnt get punctures when I did. When you try to straighten the dints (a weekly occourence) the rim would crack. I was using the 25" virsion and I had a knighmare trying to get new spokes for it, I ended up having to use plain gauge spokes that would never stay tight.
The actual metal doesn't seem to work well with monty brake pads, I constantly had to use a grind (wich would ware out in a day of competition) I am now using the same pads on a clean non ground 521 and they are amazing! like having tar, s maybe the soft meatal doesnt work well with cirten pads. Sorry for the rant, but I hate these rims, I say never ever get one!

I have the 25" rim on a 2003 231 x-lite...

I have had to replace this rim twice so far, I did some hard riding on it. The first time spokes were pulling through as if it was there job, but I later fixed it up using nuts on the nipples, it held up amazingly well. The second time, It was just poorly built and I had to tighten it alll the time which got to be a pain, and then out of no where, i went off a 7 foot drop and it smashed to pieces and cracked and bent into 3 parts! Only the spokes and tape were holding it together. But it was such a soft landing, because of all the stages of internal suicidal compression on the rim...ouch, it just cost so much to replace it...
