The weight of this bike isn't a concern to me because I'm a big guy (6'2", 165lbs). It's taken a fair amount of abuse from me, the bashguard can be hammered back, luckily. The wheelset is OK, the spokes bend easy, as does the rear rim, and good luck finding some 19" spokes. The bashguard doesnt QUITE cover the chain/sprocket so expect some chains to break. The original v-brakes and levers felt a bit cheesy, but upgrade them and you should be fine.

this is the worlds best beginner bike. I have learned most of my major skills on this bike, and as you could imagine that is really hard on a trials bike. if i had learned this stuff on an x-lite im not sure it would be alive today. the only real major problems are the brake pads, and the fact that the bash plate doesn't cover the chain at all (the chain sticks out about 1/8" of an inch from the bottom of the bash plate).

plazmatic brake pads fix the brake problem(except in dust & water), and i made a 1/4" bash ring out of steel and bolted it to my chainring, but u can come up with your own solution.

it may be heavy but it's strong. i've done too many 6' drops on it to count and the only thing that bent was the pedals (but they aren't even the ones that come with the bike).

the handle bars are plenty wide for anyone who fits the bike.

the bolts on the neck are annoying. they are pretty sharp, and they get your funnybone (on ur knee) pretty badly sometimes. i suggest shinguards with kneepads.

most of all this bike is cheeeeap! amazing value!!

this bike is very nice to ride it is very cheap for what you get, £260 for a monty that is very good, it is quite heavy though but that's only cos its made out of strong steel also the bash plate does not quite cover the chain which with £26 can be replaced with a bigger one which comes on the more top of the range montys, all this bike needs is a set of maguras and it will be the bees knees.

This is a great bike to learn on. I have learned all the basics on this bike. Had to replace the free wheel once. Once you upgrade the brakes you should be good to go.

this was my first trials bike and is greate for bigginers. the weight isnt great but what are you asking for the price! when set up right this bike can ride nice! i just slaped a hs33 on the back and had no problems.
although ive cracked my frame twice (i wasnt gentle with it) this bike is strong and will survive some hard trials riding. some say the back wheel dints easy but ive wacked mine too many times to count on walls and curbs and my wheels still good. another weakness is the cranks, they round of and once the chain ring bends from were the bashplate doesnt cover, you have to buy new cranks as the chainring is un-replacable but are cheap to replace.

overall, with all the abuse ive put this bike through for well over a year now, it still lives to tell some stories.

this bike can take alot of abuse good for the big riders because it is a very strong frame. bit heavy but it doesnt really matter. back wheel can be bent easily, forks stem and bars are made out of steel same as the frame, brakes can fail after a month or so of riding but if you upgrade them they will be fine.

this bike is an okay bike for a begginer you may want to buy some new stuff for it and the wheel buckle really easily if you hit something hard on the side but still its a good begginers bike and the bash guard bends but its quiet easy to hammer back.
