This is the same great crank from Middleburn in an ISIS version. In case you've been living under a rock, ISIS is the international standard for splined bottom-bracket/crank interfaces (take a look at the photo to notice the spline instead of the square-taper). It makes for a much stiffer and stronger setup! This allows for better power transfer and longer fatigue life, both of which we can always use more of in trials!

The crankset is made in the UK, and comes with a lifetime warranty, even for trials use! The bashring, which is wide (1/2") and beefy, is also the spider, which the included 22 tooth chainring bolts directly onto. The one-piece spider/bashring is a great idea - making the system lighter, stiffer, and stronger. I also like that the bashring is low-profile - it protects the chain only as much as necessary. The bashring has a knurled surface, which works fine, and is somewhat friendly to concrete. The crankset is also available with a normal 58/94 spider setup, if you want to run two rings.

I had the square-taper version of this crank on my bikes for a year and a half, and now it's moved over to a friend's bike. It's still going strong!

These are the only cranks i would ever use. I've had 2 pairs now (only because i got a whole new bike that came with middleburns - not because i broke them).
They are so strong, i've hardly heard of any being broken (and if you do break em the guys at middleburn are great, and just replace em free, no quibble) They are light (not so light they feel flimsy, just solid, without actually being heavy). They are very scrath resistant, and if you do scrath them it ususally just polishes out. The price isn't *too* bad (around 140 UK pounds) and once you get them, you'll have them for life ;)

Wicked cranks.

I bought one out of the first batch to make it to the US and they're still going strong. Super stiff, light, and an amazing bashring. The only downside is that the only BB that fits my Echo is a Shimano and the taper bottoms out. I'm building up an XC bike now and there was no question about what crank to use. If only I could get one of the double ring ones. I never understand why some companies seem so reluctant to export the good stuff to the US.

As soon as i saw these cranks i knew they would survive well into the next century. They are as stiff as cranks get and yet they don't weigh all that much.
The bashrings come in different colours, so you can match your bike and the overall finish is second to none.

It will be one of those parts that you only need to buy once as it will last a lifetime.

A bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

Nothing beats this crank! at all has a super tough bashguard! and if you wanna go uci they make a little 16 tooth integrated bashie too under 100g.
Cranks are super stiff, specially in ISIS! very light! and extremely strong! you should see mine they are sooooo scrathed up!

So if you're goin to get a crank set then get these! nothing beats them honestly!
They come with the cranks, bashie and 20 or 22tooth hard coat ring (hard coat gives the ring a lot more life!)

Well from day one I could feel how much stiffer these cranks were.. get them in the ISIS drive, you can really feel the difference coming from square taper.
The bashring is still going strong and even though its worn still grips pretty well, plus the colours are nice (if that's what you go for!).

As for weight, its very reasonable. When you minus the spider etc it is quite comparable to some of the higher-end lightweight cranks. With a lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong.. even though it is a bit pricey, think of it as a valuable investment

the middleburn rs7 is a lovely piece of kit. Very expensive compared to other cranks avalible on the market, but come in lots of different colours. These cranks may look small but are as strong as any carbonfibre cranks. The bash guard is very hard wearing and takes a lot of punishment before you see the effects. In my opinion the best crank money can buy.
