Review
I ride the frame for half a year and I haven't had any problems yet.
The frame is for disc brake only. In the beginning I was a bit sceptical if the rear disc mount would resist the huge forces caused by the rear disc brake, but these thoughts were groundless.
There were no problems, though the disc mount is made for gigantic 8 inch rotors.
The chainstay yoke and the bottom bracket are cnc machined from one piece and offer much tire clearance. The predecessor of this frame hadn't had this feature and often cracked at this weak point.
The down tube is prodigiously durable against dents. I fell onto the down tube several times but it left only scratches.
The frame weighs only 1750 grams.
The geometry is one of the weaknesses of this beautiful frame. The chainstays are 400mm (15,75") long and the wheelbase is with a Megamo fork 1040mm (40,95"). The bike is not as manageable as a Koxx on the back wheel and the short wheelbase is not so good for uci style.
The other weakness is the headset. It's a semi-integrated one, which can hardly be reasonable adjusted.
The manufacturing quality is very good. The weldings look fantastic.
The final result: A great competition frame with a very robust disc mount but with a geometry with little weaknesses. |
