Review
i love this rim. i got it second hand about 3 years ago and used it for learning trials/jumping a little/street throwaround kinda bike. sold it with my xc bike and as far as i know it is still going strong. apart from building it on to different hubs now and again it practically never needed truing.

i'm not sure if i flukingly got an extra-uber-mega d521 but i have been impressed with the hardiness, especially for the weight.

that said, i sold it and bought an echo rear rim because the 521 was not wide enough to run a comfortable PSI on natural without rolling everywhere. since i got the wider rim my natural riding has improved to no end.

without having a clue on the price, i would rate my d521 5 stars for urban riding, but only 2 or maybe 3 for anything on rocks.

these rims are the best i have ever ridden on. Havent had to true them yet. They have taken drops of 6+ feet to flat concrete, with ridiculously low tire pressures and are still perfectly true. Totally worth the money, i have a friend who rides a norco team trials he has broken a frame every year but kept these rims for 3 years. That says something doesn't it.

these rims should be used for a barbacue rather than on a bike they are too weak. i had these laced onto a hope big un hb with super cop dt swiss spokes and i recon the spokes are stronger than the rim.

These rims have lasted through a mixture of riding (Downhill, Cross Country and trails)and suffered little wear and tear. Whereas other rims have buckeled these have never needed repairing. Would highly recommend to any rider. They even outlasted the internals of the Deore LX hub which failed due to my style of riding.
