Strengths
price, 36 engagement points

Weaknesses
manufacturing quality

Review
I've used this freewheel for 6 months and it hasn't skipped once! Because of its 36 engagement points it feels much better than Shimano freewheels, which have only 18 engagement points.

The ACS has 4 pawls, always two of them engage at the same time. The manufacturing quality is not very well but the low price compensates this little fault.

GREAT freewheels. Had 3 of them, only had to replace one on my GT race bike due to sand/water. NO skips on my trials bike, and you can't beat 36 engagement points for the price.

good price, engagement is nice

Weaknesses
needs loctiting (as they all do), skips a bit, strong riders will kill them fairly quick

Similar Products Used
lots of rear hubs, no other FF setups unfortunately

Review
this freewheel is good for the price, for the most part i feel comfortable on it. it has skipped a few times, but never under load. the engagement is good.

they aren't overly beefy, a strong rider will go through these pretty fast. with me a shimano lasted me way over a year, so i am not concerned about the strength.

buy it if you are light on freewheels. if you aren't, consider the WI trials freewheel.

Review
Compared to the shiamno freewheel, this freewheel engages faster, very predictable on wrong foot, short run-ups. Never skipped in 10 months. Very good product, best ever used, however i would believe this product to be more expensive than the shimano ones but it is worth it.

Strengths
36 atachement points, 4 claws, 4 springs. Skips never , long lasting, smooth operating.

Weaknesses
Quite wide assembly. Need modifications to fit 189mm BB.

Similar Products Used
Old Shimano, Shimano DX.

Review
This is the best affordable freewheel on the market. It has twice as many atachement points than Old Shimano design.

Suplied with pretty poor grease in it, you should open, clean and re-grease it. This freewheel _really_ needs threadlocking. I used Loctite trhead glue.

When prepared and correctly bedded in this freewheel operates fantastically. It hadn't skipped ever and the operating is smooth and sure.

I know, it's very cheap but that is caused by poor preparation job at the factory.

Just put some proper grease in and you will have the most reliable freewheel.

(Fitting ACS freewheel to narrower (<189mm) BB is pain. You have to take off some steel from the body of the freewheel. With a good file it takes about 30mins to level the free wheel assembling spanner claws down...)

I've been riding with a ACS claw freeweheel for a year now.

It is a strong freewheel. I've had that I was bashing on something when the rockring wasn't able to protect against the crash. So it bashed on the freewheel. The freewheel still works well.

After a very sandy ride, the freewheel didn't runs free and it cracks. But after let it in benzin for a night and leap it with WD-40 and thin oil it runs very, very good again!

I never had an other freewheel so I can not say that it is an excellent freewheel because I can not compare it with other freewheels.
